The clinical psychology department of CSE provides state- of-the-art assessment and intervention services. Comprehensive assessment includes psycho-diagnostic evaluations, educational evaluations and developmental assessments of various developmental disorders using standardized tools.
Assessments are done mainly to understand a child’s cognitive, behavioural, social, emotional, academic, and executive functioning areas and to determine a child’s strength and weaknesses which helps to recommend effective interventions.

Intervention strategies are based on a detailed understanding of the basic psychological needs of children and adolescents with developmental and intellectual challenges, and how the family and other social contexts influence the socio-emotional adjustment, cognitive development, behavioral adaptation and health status of children and adolescents. Paediatric Occupational Therapist helps children to develop skills in the areas of Self Care, School and Play to improve their cognitive, physical, sensory and motor (fine motor and gross motor) skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment. Therapy also includes a direct practice of the task, often with adaptations or modifications of the fine motor and self-care tasks (cutting, writing, tying shoes) that are difficult for the individual child.
The three primary sensory systems are the tactile system (our ability to touch something and comprehend it), the vestibular system (involved in eye-hand coordination, balance and co-ordination) and the proprioceptive system (involved in determining special relationships with our body and the world around us). Sensory Integration is a term that describes the brain’s ability to take information from the senses, organize it and respond to it during experiences of daily life. The tactile system, the vestibular system and the proprioceptive system are involved in Sensory Integration Therapy.
SIT is activity based therapy where the child learns and improve in self-regulation, postural control, praxis and sequencing, eye/hand coordination, fine motor skill development, social and emotional development and academic learning.

Intervention includes (Neuro Development Therapy, mat exercises, core restoration, gait training, use of electro therapy modalities, home programs and training for parents).
The CSE Counselling services are primarily offered for students and their families. It includes child counselling, parental counselling, sibling counselling, crisis interventions and conflict resolutions.
The services include consulting and collaborating with teachers, therapists and families to understand the special needs of a student and understanding the accommodations and modifications needed to assist the students.
